Gerardo Blumenkrantz is a Brooklyn-based artist, born in Argentina. In early 2012 he was awarded a Sendak Fellowship, for outstanding visual storytellers, by Maurice Sendak himself.
Gerardo’s work has been exhibited in group shows at the Visual Arts Gallery in Chelsea, the Recoleta Cultural Center in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the international poster exhibit at the Mercosur Biennial in Porto Alegre, Brazil—among other venues. While a scholarship student at NYC’s School of Visual Arts, his graduate thesis project was auctioned at Sotheby’s Tel Aviv, and his art won first prize at an international postal stamp design competition held by the Magyar Posta, Hungary’s national postal service.
Several publications, like McSweeney’s The Believer, Communication Arts, Creativity, Print, and Critique have featured Gerardo’s art, which was also highlighted as a front page Curator’s Pick on Behance.
